Natural Beauty:Homemade Hot Oil treatment

I have really dry, thick hair and one of the products thats I miss the most since I've been in Madrid is VO5's hot oil treatments. So I figured, since Spain has some of the world's best olive oil, why not take advantage of my resources and Mcgyver something up. The result: a cheap and easy to make home remedy that works Even Better(!) than V05.
Just goes to show: natural+ artisanal = Better!
  Enjoy :)

You will need:

1 tablespoon olive oil
5 pumps of organic avocado oil(from NaturaSí) OR half an avocado mashed finely
3 pumps of Argan oil OR  coconut oil

Instructions:

1.Mix all three oils into a small bowl(I prefer terra cotta because it heats up more in the shower)
 2.  Place bowl in corner of shower and allow to heat up while you bathe
 3. Wet and divide hair into three parts(left, right and back) and dip the ends (only!) into the bowl. Allow ends to soak up as much oil as possible. If any oil is left, spread throughout the rest of your hair.
 4. clip hair up and place in shower cap or plastic bag.
 5. let hair sit and steam for about 2-3 minutes.
 6. Wash and condition as usual.

Top 5 Ready Made Natura Sí Dishes

I know, I know, the whole point of eating natural foods is to stay healthy, but even the healthy get tired or are in a rush to get a bite to eat. Even if your not, it's nice to let go a little and veg. out in front of the TV once in a while. The key here is moderation. So if your like me and want tasty, quick snacks that are still fairly healthy, check out my top 5 Natura Sí ready-made dishes. They're natural, easy to make and very yummy! Enjoy! (even if you don't shop at Natura Sí most of these ready made dishes are available at other natural food stores around Madrid)

1. Ready- Made 2 cheese pizza.
Not gunna lie, this pizza looked awkward when I first saw it. Seemed like it was made out of plastic or something. But one lazy, cold, day I couldn't resist, bought one, popped it in the oven for 15 minutes and Presto! I had the best Pizza Ever! They are perfect for one or two people, made with deliciously fresh ingredients and  whole wheat dough. Whether you like it crusty on top, or soft and gooey the dough and cheese are to Die!

2.  Clearspring Organic Brown-Rice Ramen
Being a recent Graduate, I am still not over my need for Ramen. So when I found this fabulous British product at Natura Sí, like any skeptic I also thought it would taste bland and gross. Of course all newbies to the organic world remain skeptical to how tasty most of these foods will be. My mind(and taste buds) were blown away and I happily stood corrected. The noodles were flavorfull, easy to make and very light. They come in either soy sauce flavor or  miso ginger soup, both delicious. What's best, they didn´t leave me with the typical Ramen Noodle after drowse that you usually get from all that MSG.

3. Hummus
I come from a Middle Eastern background(Egyptian/Iranian), needless to say, it is near impossible to impress me with store bought Hummus. This one takes the cake. Perfect Blend of  rich, creamy chickpeas and spices. ´Nuff said, you gotta try it.

4. Vegetalia Tofu Lunch Meat.
Ok, so when I first decided to try this veggie thing there were a few things I decided to steer clear from, one being this product. And here it is on my top 5 list (Zing!). I mean, what could possibly be creepier or more mysterious than bologny, 'cept for it's weird tofu doppleganger? Again as a natural born skeptic(and trust me, this happens to us a lot) I stand flat out Wrong!
This stuff is delish! The blend of spices are perfect, tastes just like fresh lunchmeat, without the greasy, heavy feeling that meat gives you. I love to slap three pieces onto toasted whole-wheat sesame rolls, with fresh tomatoe, lettuce, organic swiss cheese, spicy mustard and Japanese Mayonnaise(google it, it's the Mecca of Mayo).

5. Microwaveable  Brown riceVeggie Paella
This stuff is easy to make, light and packed with veggies. It did come in last place, however, because it could use some condiments. However, it sat well with me and would make a great addition to a stir fry.
